Volunteers who are 16 & 17 have the opportunity to engage patients and families in Bingo and other games via our Virtual Programming, which is hosted inside the hospital. Volunteers 18 and older have the opportunity to engage children, face-to-face, in play sessions, provide families with breaks, and assist the child life staff with various projects to better serve patients and families, as well as host Virtual Programming. Volunteer experiences are tailored to interests, as well as the department needs during the volunteer shift. To apply to be a volunteer with the Child Life Department, visit the Volunteer’s website. Upon application, please state that you are interested in volunteering with the Child Life Department in the “Anything else?” box, so that you can be placed in the desired location.
