The INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center is one of only two burn care centers in Oklahoma.

Since its opening in 1975, the center has expanded to become the largest burn center in the southwest and the only pediatric burn center in Oklahoma that provides comprehensive burn care and reconstruction.

The mission of the INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center is not only to save lives, but to reach beyond survival, improving the patient's quality of life by returning him or her to a maximum level of function and activity in society.

Advanced Treatments and Research

The INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center uses advanced products like Integra to treat burns. Integra, made of cow collagen, shark cartilage and silicone, minimizes scarring and infection by promoting skin regrowth.

The center also engages in studies to evaluate new dressings based on infection reduction, healing time, material quality, reliability and cost.

Types of Burns and How to Treat Them

Burns are categorized by their degree of severity. Health care professionals determine the degree of a burn based on how deep the injury goes. The recommended treatment depends on the cause and severity, though all burns should be kept clean and bandaged. Learn more about the three classifications of burns and how to treat each one.
