Clay T. Reed M.D., is a thoracic oncologist and hematologist at the INTEGRIS Health Cancer Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was previously a clinical fellow of the National Cancer Institute within the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Reed completed an NCI-sponsored combined clinical fellowship in hematology and oncology through the NIH Intramural Research Program which is one of the largest research hospitals in the world. Specifically, his research has provided him with expertise in immunotherapy via the NCI center for immuno-oncology.
During his fellowship, he received extensive standard of care experience at Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and the Walter Reed National Military Hospital. He was lauded awards such as the NCI Fellow Teaching Award, the highest NCI oncology in-training exam score, and the highest hematology in-training exam score (Perfect 800/800 - first in program history). He was also an associate chief fellow at the NCI.
Prior to his fellowship, he completed residency training in internal medicine at the world-famous Mayo Clinic which was ranked as the number one hospital in the world during that time. He received his medical degree (with highest honors) from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he graduated #1 (The Dr. Lewis J Moorman Scholar) of his class of almost 200 other students.
He received has dual bachelor undergraduate degrees in chemistry and biology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU) where he was lauded the T. C. Carter Award (Highest graduating GPA [4.0]), an NWOSU scholar ambassador, an NWOSU outstanding senior graduate, a Featured Regional University System of Oklahoma Success Story, and an NWOSU outstanding graduate.
With a research focus on combination immune therapies within the NCI’s Center for Immuno-Oncology and clinical focus on thoracic oncology, Dr. Reed’s skillset includes clinical trial methodology and analysis with additional expertise in patients being treated with immunotherapy as well as expertise from numerous world experts in clinical hematology and oncology.

As a native Oklahoman, he is enthusiastic about expanding state-of-the art cancer care to his home state. He is passionate about individualized patient care and believes there is no one-size-fits-all in cancer treatments. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, OU football, the OKC Thunder and golfing.
